PROMEA (www.promea.gr), the Hellenic Society for the Promotion of Research and Development Methodologies, aims at the promotion and enhancement of the knowledge and innovation society in Greece and Europe. Furthermore, PROMEA provides integrated solutions in the field of business innovation, SMEs competitiveness, sustainable development and environmental management. Established in 2006, its scope of activities includes:

  • Project management (risk management, quality assurance, day-to-day coordination, conflict resolution, impact analysis)
  • Implementation and management of R&D activities
  • Development of know-how and methodologies for managing research and development projects
  • Provision of services in order to improve research and innovation capacities in the public and private sector
  • Advancement of teaching and learning methodologies by innovative learning-by-doing methodologies and up-to-date educational resources
  • Dissemination activities (e.g. communication events, social media, scientific communications, press releases)
  • International collaboration and exchange of experience through projects, studies in the field of research and education

Role in the project

PROMEA is MONOLITHOS’ task partner designated to lead the documentation of business actors, stakeholders and enablers with innovation capacity/orientation (T2.1) and carry out the requirement analysis on the emergence of territorial ecosystems for the substitution of PGM in vehicle catalysts (T2.2).

It will also develop the educational resources on PGM substitution in vehicle catalysts (T5.2) and participate in dissemination, transferring, and capitalisation events to be held in Greece (WP4).

Contribution to knowledge building in the region

Through its participation in the INNOCAT project, PROMEA aspires to diffuse a radically new technology for waste recovery and recycling (i.e. INNOCAT) that can essentially enhance the region’s competitiveness and innovation capacity. PROMEA will also attempt to encourage SMEs to invest in R&D and participate in collaborative schemes that promote by-products exchange.

PROMEA, in partnership with MONOLITHOS, will setup the specifications and create an elaborate plan for the substitution of catalysts in heavy trucks whilst promoting the emergence of PGMs’ territorial ecosystems and other industrial symbiosis schemes.

Additionally, PROMEA will support the establishment of innovative start-ups in the waste recovery field through capacity building activities and business support services (incl. funding through the INNOCAT funding scheme).
