Objectives

INNOCAT anticipates that its results will:

  • Raise awareness and stimulate policy support for CRMs related activities in RIS countries,

  • Build-up a community with all three sides of the knowledge triangle (business, education and research) in these countries, and essentially

  • Kick-start the emergence of innovative territorial ecosystems for the collection, replacement, and recycling of catalytic converters, turning them into secondary sources of PGMs.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  • Exchange and diffusion of innovation and best practices on substituting PGMs in catalytic converters.

  • Pilot application of retrofitting HDVs, including evaluation results and economic impact assessment.

  • Development of policy recommendations and roadmaps for public authorities to build-up the CRMs community for PGMs collection, recycling, and substitution.

  • Capacity-building and matchmaking for key-beneficiaries in RIS countries to develop their businesses and participate in such ecosystems (i.e. SMEs and start-ups).
